Tips For Lucid Dreaming - Unknown Facts About Lucid Dreaming

I find that knowing is half of the battle and one of the tips for lucid dreaming is to understand some facts about the subject. So here are a few things that you probably didn't know about the life-changing experience.

When You Close Your Eyes In A Lucid Dream You Wake Up

Remember when you were little and you used to have nightmares and to get away you would shut your eyes tight and scream "WAKE UP!" and you would awake in the safety of your own bed.

The same goes for lucid dreaming if you shut you're eyes even accidentally (you don't blink in lucid dreams) then you will wake up and return to your physical body. If this does happen you can go back to your lucid state by shutting your eyes as soon as you wake up staying completely still and you will quickly fall back with full control of your dream.

How Do I Lucid Dream - Controlling Your Dreams

How Do I Lucid Dream - There Is More To It Than You Think

When people ask "how do I lucid dream?" they think that once that is answered they can just go into the lucid state and everything will unroll like a normal dream. However it is far from that, you need to learn to control your dream instead of just realising that you are dreaming.

There are plenty of things that you can do during a lucid dream and we are going to jump straight into them...

How Do I Lucid Dream - Flying

Many people are attracted with how to lucid dream with the flying experience. Many people have talked about this and it is a life changing experience to be doing the "superman" around your thought up landscape.

This isn't simple to do though, due to us not being able to fly in real life our minds have trouble with believing this so when we try to fly our minds are like "What do you think you're doing?!" and pull us back down.

If you want to fly then you will need to believe. As in the Matrix when Neo had to fight Morpheus, it was shown that strength, style, speed and fitness didn't matter at all it was all about belief...because Morpheus believed he was better.

Believe you can fly and you will soon be flying everywhere like superman!

How Do I Lucid Dream - Change Your Surroundings

Another thing you may want to do is change the surroundings in your dream. Whether you have got bored of the one that you are in or if you just want to change it for a new story there is a lot of effort put into this.

One way to do this is to imagine your surroundings whilst spinning around and when you stop you should have reached a different destination.

Another method is to use doors. You can use any door (sometimes if you just imagine a door it won't be too far away from you) and what you need to do is hold onto the handle and imagine the surroundings you want and then open and walk through the door into your surroundings.

How Do I Lucid Dream - Talking To Your Subconscious

When you enter the lucid world you are also able to speak to your subconscious!

To do this easily you are going to have to give it a human or animal form and then you can talk to them.

Talking to your subconscious can help lead to answering questions that have been bugging you such as what type of job you want to have in the future. Talking to your subconscious every now and then will help you understand more about yourself and you can even increase confidence with it.

How Do I Lucid Dream - In Closing

As you can tell controlling your mind is another question completely to "How do I lucid dream?" and hopefully the tips above would have given you a bit of an insight to what you're able to do.
Just remember you can do what every you want just as long as you believe...you are in control.

Techniques For Lucid Dreaming - The Power Of Self-Hypnosis

Self-hypnosis is one of the many techniques for lucid dreaming that is great for everyone to use. Just like motivation, confidence and self-esteem this technique is very powerful and has a high success rate and can be done throughout the day.

Techniques For Lucid Dreaming - What Is Self-Hypnosis?

For those of you who don't know what self-hypnosis is, it is a technique that you use to program yourself. For example some very common uses of self-hypnosis is for those who have low confidence or self-esteem issues. With the right programming these people can increase their issues and the same goes for lucid dreaming.

The way this works is by putting your body into a deep relaxation mode (a trance) which is like sleep and from this you can program dreams and increase self-awareness which teaches your subconscious to realize you're dreaming. In this trance you will plant suggestions to your subconscious such as "My dream world is vivid", "I can remember my dreams", "I want to lucid dream".
Planting suggestions will help program your body to experience lucid dreams.

Techniques For Lucid Dreaming - Myth Busters!

There are plenty of myths out there about hypnosis and some of them are the reason people ignore using the method. So below I am stating some facts that will help you forget the myths...
  • You can't get stuck
When in a trance you can't get stuck at all. If you or the mp3 happen to stop midway you won't get trapped in a trace but instead you'll naturally wake up.
  • Everyone can be hypnotized
Have you ever watch TV, looked out of a window in a moving car or did a morning routine half-asleep? These are various places where you get caught in a trance. You may not realise it but it does happen and depending who you are you may be more open to ideas than others.
  • You have complete control
One thing people think is that when they are under a trance they have no control (like the TV shows). However you can control yourself, you may be more suggestible but you can't be convinced to do something you really don't want to do.

Techniques For Lucid Dreaming - How To Put Yourself Under...

Even though there are plenty of detailed steps to do this here is a quick version that you can follow.
  1. Make yourself comfortable so that it is easy for you to relax. Either sit or lie down and remain in that position without crossing your legs and arms for 30 minutes.
  2. Release any tension you have by taking deep breaths and imagine relaxing your physical muscles one by one. Imagine pouring a cup of warm golden water on your body and imagine relaxing.
  3. Down the staircase is a trick I learnt that can do wonders towards hypnotizing. Imagine you are at the top of a staircase and you are making your way down slowly. As you get lower count down from 10 for each step and make sure that your muscles are still relaxed.
  4. Auto suggestions go hand in hand with self-hypnotization. What you want to do at this point (where you are in a deep trance) is to add in some affirmations. Some good ones are "I can remember my dreams", "I have lucid dreams", "I can become conscious in my dreams", "I can control my dreams". Repeat these to yourself as you are in a trance.
  5. Waking up from your trance is simple. What you want to do is walk back up the stairs counting from 1-10 slowly beginning to feel more aware. Once at the top you will be back to normal.

Techniques For Lucid Dreaming - Binuaral Beats

Something that is very effective especially with beginners is the use of binaural tones. These are simple to use and can be found anywhere on the internet even on youtube.

The science behind these is simple; two tones are played at once which produces one note at a frequency. This can help alter the brainwaves for things such as relaxation, self-hypnosis and specially lucid dreaming.

You can find plenty of these on youtube which last for an hour or even longer and with the help of a pair of headphones you are able to get the best out of this whilst you sleep or go through on of your lucid dreaming sessions throughout the day.

As mentioned this is a very beneficial way to go for beginners as it can help them reach a state of relaxation instead of making you have to go through it yourself.

Techniques For Lucid Dreaming - In Closing...

During the trance you may experience a lucid dream and if not then you may need more practice or you may experience a lucid dream before you go to bed.

The reason this is one of the easiest techniques for lucid dreaming is that you can get this on an mp3 that can guide you through the whole process and has unbelievable results!

It is recommended that you do this before you go to bed so that you are relaxed and ready to lucid dream!

Tips For Lucid Dreaming - Monks Practice Lucid Dreaming On Their Path To Enlightenment

I find that knowing is half of the battle and one of the tips for lucid dreaming is to understand some facts about the subject. So here are a few things that you probably didn't know about the life-changing experience.

Tibetan monks have been known to practice lucid dreaming to reach a state of enlightenment. Instead of flying around and living out their fantasy they are given different goals such as...

  • Communicate with yidam (an enlightened being)
  • Visit different worlds
  • Receiving initiations
  • Talking to their subconscious
Just as monks did you too can actually reach enlightenment through achieving lucid dreams. So for example if you are having problems, or if you have something you need ti rehearse for or if you want to tap into your creative side then all you have to do is get to your subconscious.

With lucid dreaming you can interact with your subconscious and from this you can help yourself solve life problems that you may be experiencing and how you can battle them when you awake and also you can also find some artistic inspiration which too can be great especially if you need to be creative or if you are seeking inspiration for anything.
There are many benefits when it comes down to lucid dreaming and the best part is they can be easily achieved if you know how.

Lucid Dreaming Methods - Foods and Vitamins

Food and vitamins can be one of the most effective lucid dreaming methods that can help stimulate you for achieving your dream.

Vitamin B6 plays a role with stimulating with brain function and you are looking to increase your intake to about 100mg.

You can either buy these as vitamins or you can go ahead and get them through your fruit and vegetables and also proteins; eggs, bananas, carrots, oranges, fish, chicken and nuts are just a few of the foods that you should look out for.

What happen is that B6 will convert the Tryptophan in the body into serotonin which is what makes your dreams more vivid and intense. This conversion takes place in the body which is what you are looking for, which is why you shouldn't just get serotonin supplements as they are broken down differently.

Along with the vitamin B6 you may find it useful to have more foods that in Tryptophan which brings in cheese. Having cheese before bed will help increase the vividness of your dreams (cheese doesn't always bring bad dreams but it does increase vividness which is why many people can undergo nightmares).

The is an effective lucid dreaming method where you can simply stimulate your body into being able to create a higher level of lucidity for you dreams.
